Add coverage
Where RADARX24 gets live positions today, and how community receivers expand the picture.
Live aircraft feeds
OpenSky Network — aggregated Mode S / ADS-B state vectors worldwide and in bounding boxes.
adsb.lol — community ADS-B API with low-latency regional snapshots.
adsb.fi — open ADS-B data API used as an additional merge source.
RADARX24 merges these feeds server-side and de-duplicates by hex code, preferring richer ADS-B records when available.
Reference databases
OurAirports — airport names, codes, and coordinates for map overlays and search.
adsbdb — aircraft registration metadata and filed routes by callsign.
Running your own receiver (conceptual)
More ground stations mean better low-altitude coverage near your area. A typical hobby setup includes a 1090 MHz antenna, an SDR or dedicated ADS-B receiver, and software that decodes messages and forwards them to a community aggregator.
- Install decode software (for example readsb, dump1090-fa, or similar).
- Point it at your receiver and confirm local aircraft appear.
- Enable feed-out to a public network you trust (many projects document a one-line forwarder).
- After your feed is stable, traffic near you improves for everyone using merged APIs.
